Linda R. (Schroeder) Laumann

July 12, 1950-July 13, 2011

Linda R. (Schroeder) Laumann, 61, of Janesville went home to heaven to live with the Savior she had loved since the age of 13. She left this earth way too early on July 13, 2011, but her earthly body could not withstand any more. Linda was born to Lloyd and Kathryn (Mansur) Schroeder on July 12, 1950. She graduated from Craig High School in 1968 and from Greenville College, Greenville, IL in 1972. She later completed a Master’s Degree in Education from U-W Whitewater. Linda taught for one year in the Warren IL School District, where she met her future husband, Anton J. Laumann. They were married April 8, 1977 at the Free Methodist Church in Janesville.

Linda spent the remaining 29 ½ years of her professional career teaching high school history, law and many other courses in the Milton School District. She was a devoted teacher and gave 110 % of herself to her students. Her “Tweety Bird” impression generated lots of talk among the students. She started the girls basketball program at the high school and was the coach for several years. She was the advisor for the Law Club which went on to take many first place finishes under her leadership. She loved to exercise and placed in many 5K and 10K races she ran in the area. Linda was a student of the Bible and did not just read it, she studied it. Through her studies, she acquired a vast knowledge she loved to share with others. Her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior was paramount in her life and would be shared with anyone who listened.

Linda is survived by her family, which she loved more than life itself: Her husband, Anton (Tony), daughter, Kristin, both of Janesville and son, Shawn of Lafayette, IN. She is further survived by her mother, Kathryn (Kay) Schroeder and sister, Kris (Steve) Beeler of Janesville. Also, a sister-in-law, Lenore Laumann of Berkley, CA and her daughter, Kassandra (Phillip) Levens and their children, Adelaide and Lucas. Linda is also survived by nephew, Derek (Danielle) Rice and their children, Logan and Morgan. Also a niece, Kelly (Joshua) Williams and their children, Benjamin and Andrew. She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Schroeder on July 15, 2009.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. July 18, 2011 at Bethel Baptist Church, 3300 Mt. Zion Avenue, Janesville with Pastor Timothy Erickson officiating. Private entombment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday, July 17th from 2 to 4 p.m. at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville. Memorials may be made in Linda’s name to a memorial fund being established in her memory. The Laumann family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home.
